Tufts Medical Center station serves the MBTA Orange Line at the edge of Chinatown, with an entrance on Washington Street near the hospital campus it's named for. The station opened in 1987 as part of the Orange Line's relocation from the old Washington Street Elevated to the current Southwest Corridor alignment. It sits between Chinatown and Back Bay stations, giving riders a direct connection to the medical center and the surrounding downtown blocks.
