The Boston Marathon finish line sits on Boylston Street, just past the Boston Public Library and the John Hancock Tower. The course covers 26.2 miles from Hopkinton to Boston, making it the oldest annually run marathon in the world, dating to 1897. Bank of America and Adidas are the race's title sponsors for the 128th running of the event. Cyclists riding the Midnight Marathon route often finish their own unofficial ride at the same line in the days before the official race, retracing the course from Hopkinton overnight.
