Welcome to Marktown, Indiana. Marktown is on the National Register of Historic Places.

The town was created by Clayton Mark, owner of the Clayton Mark and Company that made steel pipes, to house employees. The town is bordered by a US Steel plant and the largest BP refinery in the world. The town is known as the only town in North America where residents drive on the sidewalks and walk in the street.
