The Minnesota Governor's Residence sits at 1006 Summit Avenue in St. Paul, a Tudor-style mansion built in 1910 for lumber baron Horace Hills Irvine. The state has used it as the official governor's residence since 1965, when the Irvine family donated it, and it's listed on the National Register of Historic Places. On November 14, 2020, demonstrators gathered outside the residence as part of the nationwide "Stop the Steal" movement, which claimed widespread fraud in that year's presidential election despite no evidence supporting the allegations. The protest was one of many held at statehouses and governors' residences across the country that month.
