The Minnesota Governor's Residence at 1006 Summit Avenue has served as the official home of the state's governor since 1965. Built in 1912 for lumber baron Horace Hills Irvine, the Tudor Revival mansion was donated to the state by the Irvine family in the 1960s. In November 2020, demonstrators gathered outside the residence as part of the nationwide "Stop the Steal" movement disputing the results of the presidential election, directing criticism at Governor Tim Walz.
