JR East's E235 series trains have run on the Yamanote Line since debuting in 2015, replacing the earlier E231-500 fleet on Tokyo's busiest loop. Each car carries LCD passenger information displays above the doors and green-accented straps and seat moquette matching the line's signature color. The Yamanote Line itself covers roughly 34.5 kilometers and links 30 stations, including Shinjuku, Shibuya, and Tokyo Station, completing a full loop in about an hour. JR East designed the E235 with a wider gangway between cars and additional space for luggage and wheelchair users, reflecting the line's mix of commuters and travelers passing through the capital's central terminals.
