Yodobashi Camera's Head Store sits near the West Exit of Shinjuku Station, one of the busiest rail terminals in the world. The chain got its start in 1960 as a camera shop in Yodobashi, western Tokyo, before expanding into a nationwide electronics retailer with more than 20 outlets across the city. The Shinjuku complex spreads across several separate buildings, each specializing in a different product category, from cameras and computers to home appliances and watches. Rooftop signage in Japanese and English marks the store's various sections, a fixture of the Shinjuku skyline since the chain's expansion into the neighborhood in the 1970s.
