Minneapolis Police respond to George Floyd Square shooting

Minneapolis Police officers arrive at George Floyd Square, located at the intersection of E 38th Street and Elliot Avenue in South Minneapolis, following a shooting incident. Prior to their arrival, two victims had been transported to hospitals by community members present at the square. Residents at the square confronted the responding officers, subsequently offering to escort five of them to collect shell casings from the site. George Floyd Square emerged as a significant memorial and protest site after the murder of George Floyd in May 2020.
