Abandoned Housing Blocks, Former George AFB, Victorville, CA

Abandoned housing blocks at the former George Air Force Base in Victorville, California, stand in disrepair under a clear desert sky.
These abandoned housing blocks are located at the former George Air Force Base in Victorville, California. The base, established in 1941, served as a training facility for bomber crews and later for fighter pilots. After its closure in 1992, the base underwent a complex process of environmental cleanup and redevelopment. The residential areas, like the one pictured, were constructed to house military personnel and their families during the base's operational years. Their current state of disrepair reflects the significant transition the site has undergone since its military use ceased.
