September 2017 — Bruges City Hall (Stadhuis van Brugge), completed in 1421, is one of the oldest and most ornate Gothic town halls in the Low Countries. Located on Burg Square in the heart of Bruges, Belgium, the structure features a richly detailed facade with vertical pinnacles, traceried windows, and over fifty sculpted figures representing biblical and historical figures important to the city’s heritage. The red dormer windows punctuating the steep slate roof are typical of Flemish civic architecture from the period. October 2018 — Hennepin County Government Center, construction was completed in 1977. While often looked at as a single building, it’s actually 2 different towers with glass in between them. When viewed from the northeast or southeast(such as this photo), the building gives the appearance of the letter H for Hennepin. The towers are accessible from each other via catwalks on each floor. Glass walls were added after multiple suicides.

Built into the natural slope of the cemetery grounds, the structure uses gray granite and white mosaic marble to evoke quiet reflection and permanence. Its minimalist form and interplay of light were conceived to harmonize with the surrounding landscape of Lake Calhoun (Bde Maka Ska). The mausoleum extends Lakewood’s 150-year tradition of blending architecture, art, and remembrance within a park-like setting in south Minneapolis.

October 2019 — The ArcelorMittal Indiana Harbor steel mill in East Chicago, Indiana, is one of the largest integrated steelmaking facilities in the United States. The complex traces its origins to the Inland Steel Company, founded in 1893, and its massive brick headquarters—seen here—was built in the early 20th century to symbolize industrial power along Lake Michigan. Today, the plant remains a cornerstone of American steel production, encompassing multiple blast furnaces, coke batteries, and finishing lines. Once part of a working-class district and now one of Boston’s most carefully preserved historic neighborhoods, the South End’s rowhouses remain a defining feature of the city’s urban identity and charm.

April 2024 — Designed by Henry Hobson Richardson and completed in 1880, Sever Hall stands as one of the most distinguished examples of Richardsonian Romanesque architecture on the Harvard campus. Built from over 1.3 million red bricks with intricate recessed patterns and rounded turrets, the building’s symmetrical form and arched entrance exemplify Richardson’s mastery of proportion and texture. Located in Harvard Yard, Sever Hall has long served as a classroom building for the Faculty of Arts and Sciences.
