The Saks Off 5th storefront on Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis stands boarded in plywood, with two posters reading "100% In For Democracy" and "Stronger Together, Better Together, Always Together." Both bear the logo of the Civic Alliance, a nonpartisan coalition of U.S. companies formed in 2020 to encourage voter participation and support election integrity. Saks Off 5th, the discount division of Saks Fifth Avenue, joined dozens of national retailers that boarded storefronts ahead of the 2020 presidential election, anticipating possible unrest tied to the vote count.
