Burned Interior: USPS Lake Street Station, 110 E 31st St

USPS Post office during demolition
The interior of the USPS Lake Street Station at 110 E 31st Street in South Minneapolis shows extensive fire damage. This postal facility was burned on May 29, 2020, during the protests that followed the murder of George Floyd. Following the destruction, postal services, including those from the Minnehaha Station, were temporarily relocated to a vacant K-Mart on Lake Street. The original post office building was eventually rebuilt and reopened to the community three years to the day after the fire.
