The Minnesota Governor's Residence on Summit Avenue in St. Paul has served as the governor's official home since 1965, when it was donated to the state by businessman Harry C. Piper. It functions as both a private residence and a venue for public and ceremonial events. Beginning in late November 2020, the property became a recurring gathering point for "Stop the Steal" demonstrations disputing the outcome of the presidential election, drawing Proud Boys members alongside counter-protesters on successive Saturdays.
