“Stop the Steal” March Along Summit Avenue in St. Paul

The Minnesota Governor's Residence at 1006 Summit Avenue has served as the official home of the state's governor since 1965, when the Irvine family donated the property to the state. In late November 2020, marchers carrying American flags and Gadsden flags gathered outside the residence as part of the nationwide "Stop the Steal" movement, which disputed the outcome of the 2020 presidential election. The Proud Boys, a group founded in 2016 and later designated a domestic extremist organization by Canadian and U.S. authorities, took part in a series of these demonstrations at statehouses and governors' residences across the country that fall and winter.
