Marchers moved along Lake Street near South 17th Avenue in Minneapolis after news broke of Joe Biden's win in the 2020 presidential election. Signs carried through the crowd read "Count Every Vote," "Land Back," and messages supporting workers' rights, tying the moment to causes beyond the election itself. Aztec danzantes in feathered headdresses marched among the crowd, a common presence at Lake Street demonstrations tied to the Twin Cities' Indigenous and Chicano communities. Lake Street itself runs through some of Minneapolis's most ethnically diverse neighborhoods, including the Latino commercial corridor around Midtown.
