The Millennium Hotel occupies 1313 Nicollet Mall in downtown Minneapolis, a 14-story tower tied into the city's skyway system near the Minneapolis Convention Center. Nicollet Mall, the street it fronts, has served since 1967 as downtown Minneapolis's main pedestrian and transit corridor, running about a dozen blocks through the business district. In March 2020, hotel occupancy across downtown Minneapolis fell sharply as COVID-19 restrictions canceled conventions and curtailed business travel. Westminster Presbyterian Church, at the foot of the same block, dates to 1897 and remains one of the city's oldest active congregations.
