The Millennium Hotel in downtown Minneapolis, Minnesota, stands in fog and rain with most of its guest rooms dark and a single illuminated window visible on the facade. The hotel, located on Nicollet Mall, was photographed in March 2020 as travel restrictions and public health measures tied to the COVID-19 pandemic sharply reduced hotel occupancy in city centers across the United States. Nearby downtown office towers and Westminster Presbyterian Church appear through the mist, placing the building within the largely quiet central business district during the early weeks of the outbreak.
