Empty Speedway Gas Station, Loring Park, Minneapolis, COVID-19

Rainy night at an empty Speedway Gas in Loring Park
A Speedway gas station and adjacent strip mall in Minneapolis’s Loring Park neighborhood sit largely empty on a rainy night in March 2020. The storefronts include a liquor store and Lotus To Go Go, a Vietnamese restaurant, with neon signs reflecting across the wet parking lot and street. Photographed in the early weeks of the COVID-19 pandemic, the image shows a commercial corner with little visible activity at a time when many Twin Cities businesses were operating under new restrictions.
Photo taken in March 2020.
