The Minneapolis Police Department’s Fourth Precinct in North Minneapolis is shown behind chain-link fencing, concrete barricades, and extensive coils of razor wire on June 23, 2020. The added security surrounded the police station in the weeks after the murder of George Floyd and the protests that followed across Minneapolis. A sign on the fence reading “PLEASE PRACTICE SOCIAL DISTANCING” places the fortifications within the concurrent COVID-19 pandemic.
