Baker Lake Campground sits off the Sawbill Trail in Cook County, part of the Tofte Ranger District within the Superior National Forest. The U.S. Forest Service, an agency of the Department of Agriculture, maintains the site as a small, rustic campground with vault toilets and no electrical hookups. Its boat landing on Baker Lake serves as one of the entry points into the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness, giving paddlers direct access to the interior lake system. The surrounding forest is managed for multiple use, including timber, recreation, and wildlife habitat, under the Superior National Forest's broader stewardship of more than three million acres in northeastern Minnesota.
