The Lexington Avenue–63rd Street station, a key component of the New York City Subway's IND and BMT lines, opened in 1989 as part of the 63rd Street Tunnel project. This station, serving the F and Q trains, connects Manhattan's Upper East Side with Queens and the Second Avenue Subway.
