Community members gather around a memorial at East 38th Street and Chicago Avenue in Minneapolis on June 4, 2020, days after the killing of George Floyd. Flowers, candles, signs, and chalk messages cover the street in front of Cup Foods, the store beside the intersection where Floyd was killed on May 25. The site became known as George Floyd Square and remained a place of mourning, protest, and community vigil during the nationwide protests against police violence and racism.
