The Jubilee Line platforms at Westminster Underground Station, completed in 1999 as part of the Jubilee Line Extension, showcase the late-20th-century modernist design and deep-level engineering of London's transit expansion. Designed by Foster + Partners, the station features full-height platform screen doors for safety and an aesthetic of acoustic panels and perforated aluminum cladding. These platforms, situated approximately 30 meters below ground, manage significant passenger flow serving nearby government buildings while maintaining architectural clarity. The station's design integrates industrial functionality with modern infrastructure aesthetics through its curved walls, precise lighting, and concealed mechanical systems.
