Midtown Greenway May 2022
The Midtown Greenway in South Minneapolis, photographed in May 2022, is a 5.5-mile paved multi-use trail. It was developed on the former Milwaukee Road railroad corridor, which was abandoned in the 1980s. The Greenway officially opened in phases between 2001 and 2006, transforming a disused railway line into a vital urban pathway. Today, it serves as a popular route for cyclists, walkers, and runners, connecting various neighborhoods and offering a car-free transit option through the city.
