Vendor Stalls at Antigua’s Central Market

Antigua's Mercado Central sits just northwest of Parque Central, a short walk from Calle del Arco. The market was rebuilt after the 1976 earthquake destroyed much of the city's commercial infrastructure, and it remains the primary source of clothing, shoes, textiles, and household goods for residents of La Antigua Guatemala. Covered stalls line narrow walkways that connect to the city's produce and food market, forming one continuous trading complex used daily by vendors from Antigua and surrounding villages.
