The Uptown Theater in Minneapolis, a landmark on Hennepin Avenue, reopened its doors on its red carpet premiere night after renovations and pandemic-related closures. The theater, a significant cultural venue in the Uptown neighborhood, originally opened in 1926 and has been a cornerstone of the community for nearly a century. Its marquee, a prominent feature of the streetscape, announces "We Are Open" to passersby.
