Protest Signs at Abortion Rights March, Downtown Minneapolis

Crowds filled the streets of downtown Minneapolis on June 24, 2022, hours after the U.S. Supreme Court issued its ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women's Health Organization, overturning the 1973 decision in Roe v. Wade that had established a constitutional right to abortion. The 6-3 ruling returned regulation of abortion to individual states, and Minnesota's constitution continued to protect abortion access under a 1995 state supreme court decision, Doe v. Gomez. Marchers carried hand-lettered signs referencing bodily autonomy and reproductive rights as they moved through the city in the hours following the announcement.
