The U.S. Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade on June 24, 2022, ending the constitutional right to abortion established in 1973. Crowds gathered in downtown Minneapolis that day as part of nationwide demonstrations responding to the ruling. Minnesota law continued to protect abortion access after the decision, a status affirmed separately by the state's courts and legislature.
