Minnesota Capitol Security prior to inauguration
Barriers and Minnesota State Patrol vehicles secure the Minnesota State Capitol building in St. Paul on the weekend before the Presidential inauguration in January 2021. This security measure followed an FBI affidavit warning of potential protests at state capitols nationwide, prompted by the January 6th insurrection at the U.S. Capitol. The Minnesota State Capitol, designed by architect Cass Gilbert, was completed in 1905 and serves as the seat of government for the state of Minnesota.
