Tettegouche State Park stretches along more than six miles of Lake Superior shoreline in Minnesota's North Shore region, its rocky headlands rising above the water near the mouth of the Baptism River. The park's rugged cliffs, formed from ancient volcanic rock, are among the highest points on Lake Superior's Minnesota coast. Established in 1979, Tettegouche covers roughly 9,600 acres of boreal forest, inland lakes, and shoreline, making it one of the largest state parks in the region. Its trail network, including sections of the Superior Hiking Trail, draws visitors to overlooks like Shovel Point and Palisade Head for views across the lake.
