Law enforcement officers from multiple agencies respond to protests in Uptown Minneapolis on June 13, 2021. The protests were held in response to the deaths of Winston Smith and Deona Marie. Smith was killed by officers serving a warrant, and Marie was killed when a driver, Nicholas Kraus, drove into a crowd protesting Smith's death. The area, known for its commercial and residential development, has been a site of public gatherings and unrest.
