Dollar-Covered Walls at Cuzzy’s Bar, North Loop Minneapolis
Cuzzy's Bar sits on Washington Avenue in the North Loop, a neighborhood once dominated by warehouses and rail traffic before it turned into one of downtown Minneapolis's densest bar and restaurant districts. The bar's walls and ceiling are covered in dollar bills, a tradition found in dive bars across the country where patrons sign and staple currency to the surfaces over years or decades. A Bacardi neon sign and a Redhook Brewery placard hang among the bills near the bar's entrance. Cuzzy's has long served as one of the North Loop's more unpretentious holdouts, a contrast to the upscale development that has reshaped much of the surrounding blocks.
