Minneapolis Public Works employees place concrete barricades around George Floyd Square, a protest zone established after the murder of George Floyd by Minneapolis police. The square, located at the intersection of 38th Street and Chicago Avenue, became a focal point for demonstrations against racial injustice and police brutality. The area has been maintained by activists and community members as a memorial and a space for continued activism since May 2020.
