Chicago Lake Liquors, Lake Street, Boarded Storefront

Chicago Lake Liquors, a retail establishment located on Lake Street in Minneapolis, is shown with its storefront windows boarded up. This protective measure was implemented in response to the civil unrest that occurred in Minneapolis following the killing of George Floyd in May 2020. Boarding up businesses became a common practice across the city during this period to prevent damage and looting. Lake Street, a major commercial corridor, experienced significant damage and disruption during the uprising, with many businesses like Chicago Lake Liquors taking precautions or facing rebuilding efforts.
