Blaw-Knox built heavy industrial presses and rolling equipment for steel mills throughout much of the 20th century, operating out of Pittsburgh before expanding into construction machinery and other heavy manufacturing lines. Equipment bearing the company's name remained in service at American steel plants for decades after Blaw-Knox itself exited the industrial press business. This control cab sits at ArcelorMittal's Indiana Harbor facility in East Chicago, one of the largest integrated steel mills in North America. The plant traces its operations back to Inland Steel, which built the complex along Lake Michigan in the early 20th century before later ownership changes brought it under the ArcelorMittal name.
