Wells Fargo Center rises at 90 South Seventh Street in downtown Minneapolis, completed in 1988 and designed by architect Cesar Pelli. The 774-foot tower originally served as headquarters for Norwest Corporation before that company merged with Wells Fargo in 1998. Capella Tower stands beside it at 225 South Sixth Street, finished in 1992 to the same architect's design and rising 776 feet, making it one of the two tallest buildings in Minnesota.
