This location is Place d'Iéna in the 16th arrondissement of Paris, at the junction of Avenue d'Iéna and Avenue du Président Wilson. The Musée national des arts asiatiques – Guimet, France's principal museum of Asian art, fronts the square and holds one of the largest collections of Asian art outside Asia, founded by industrialist Émile Guimet in 1889. The Iéna station on Paris Métro Line 9 serves the square, connecting the area to the wider Paris transit network. The surrounding buildings date largely from the Haussmannian redevelopment of Paris in the mid-to-late 19th century.
