George Floyd Square Memorial at Night, Minneapolis

George Floyd Square, also known as "The People's Way," is a four-block area in Minneapolis that has been under community control since the murder of George Floyd on May 25, 2020. This memorial was photographed on the evening the jury began deliberations in the Derek Chauvin murder trial. The site serves as a memorial to George Floyd and other victims of racial injustice, and as a space for community organizing and expression.
