Metro Transit light rail trains operate on tracks in downtown Minneapolis, connecting the city with surrounding areas. The Blue Line, visible here, began service in 2004, providing a vital link between Minneapolis–Saint Paul International Airport, Mall of America, and downtown Minneapolis.
