Northstar Train 501 in Downtown Minneapolis

The Northstar Line, operated by Metro Transit, provides commuter rail service between Minneapolis and Big Lake, Minnesota. Train 501, seen here in downtown Minneapolis, is part of a fleet that connects suburban communities with the urban core. Introduced in 2009, the Northstar Line was developed to offer an alternative to highway travel and reduce traffic congestion along the U.S. Route 10 corridor.
