A vintage green railcar sits at a platform in Kyoto Station, one of Japan's busiest rail hubs and a major interchange for JR West and Shinkansen services. Cars painted in this dark green livery were common on regional commuter and local lines throughout the Kansai region in the late 20th century. The station itself serves as a central transfer point connecting Kyoto to Osaka, Nara, and other destinations across the Kinki region.
