Hop Wong is a Chinese restaurant on Chicago Avenue in the Midtown neighborhood of Minneapolis. Its boarded-up windows and door date to the unrest that followed George Floyd's death in May 2020, when many businesses along the Lake Street and Chicago Avenue corridors sustained damage. A hand-lettered "Hop Wong Now Open" sign and a lit "Open" placard mark its return to business behind the plywood.
