Gate 2 Entrance Sign at Foxconn’s Mount Pleasant Campus

Foxconn Technology Group broke ground on this Mount Pleasant site in 2018 after signing a 2017 agreement with the state of Wisconsin that pledged a $10 billion investment and promised up to 13,000 jobs. The project sits within the Wisconn Valley Science and Technology Park, a roughly 3,000-acre development the state assembled through eminent domain and tax incentives. Foxconn originally proposed a Generation 10.5 LCD fabrication plant, a scale of manufacturing it had previously built only in China, but repeatedly revised the plans downward over subsequent years. The campus now includes smaller assembly and data operations rather than the large-panel display plant first announced, and employment has remained well below initial projections.
