Minneapolis Protest for Dolal Idd, January 3, 2021
Protesters gathered outside the Dur Dur Bakery & Grocery at Cedar Avenue and 36th Street in South Minneapolis on January 3, 2021, to demand justice for Dolal Idd. Idd, a Somali-American man, was killed by Minneapolis Police officers on December 30, 2020, during a traffic stop. This incident marked the first police-involved killing in Minneapolis since the murder of George Floyd in May 2020, occurring less than a mile from that location. The protest highlighted ongoing concerns about police brutality and racial injustice in the city.
