The block’s centuries-old volcanic stone buildings, typical of the colonial period, now house small shops and street vendors that reflect the area’s dense commercial activity. The facade’s weathered cantera stone and red tezontle give the structure its distinctive character, common in pre-19th century civic architecture throughout the historic core.
