Brandenburger Tor Station Sign, Berlin

Brandenburger Tor Train Station
Gold lettering spelling "Brandenburger Tor" is mounted on a wall of dark, brushed metal panels at the Brandenburger Tor U-Bahn and S-Bahn station in Berlin. Originally opened in 1936 as Unter den Linden, the S-Bahn station was a Cold War ghost station from 1961 to 1989 before being renamed in 2009. The U-Bahn platforms, completed in 2009 and integrated into the U5 line in 2020, make this a vital transit hub in the city's government quarter, located near the Brandenburg Gate and Pariser Platz.
