On January 12, 2026, BORTAC agents, a tactical unit of U.S. Customs and Border Protection, confronted an individual at Park Avenue and 35th Street in Minneapolis. The agents reportedly rammed the man's vehicle and demanded identification, releasing him after confirming his U.S. citizenship. The incident occurred near the site where ICE agents had fatally shot Renee Good on January 7, 2026, and escalated as a crowd and additional officers arrived, leading to the deployment of tear gas and pepper spray against members of the media.
