Boarded Businesses, Downtown Minneapolis

Boarded storefronts in downtown Minneapolis marked with BLM and Black Owned graffiti.
Boarded storefronts in downtown Minneapolis are marked with the spray-painted messages “BLM” and “BLACK OWNED” on May 29, 2020. The plywood covers were installed to protect retail businesses during unrest following the killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police earlier that week. The markings identified Black-owned businesses and expressed support for Black Lives Matter amid the protests.
