The U55 line platform lies beneath Berlin Hauptbahnhof, Germany's central railway station. Opened in 2009, the short line was built to connect the station with the Brandenburg Gate area before later merging into the U5 line in 2020. Its symmetrical concourse features paired escalators and stairways descending to twin platforms serving both directions of the underground route. The station's minimalist gray and black finishes are typical of Berlin's modern U-Bahn extensions built in the early 2000s.
