Ginza Line 1000 Series Train, Tokyo Metro

The Ginza Line is Tokyo's oldest subway line, opened in 1927 between Asakusa and Ueno and later extended to run the full route between Asakusa and Shibuya. Tokyo Metro operates the line's 1000 Series trainsets, introduced in 2012 with a retro-styled yellow livery meant to recall the line's original 1000-class cars. The line covers about 14.3 kilometers across 19 stations, making it one of the busiest routes in the Tokyo Metro network. Platform screen doors, now standard at Ginza Line stations, were added in stages during the 2010s to prevent falls and improve safety.
