State Patrol at Minneapolis Convention Center Temporary Precinct

Minnesota State Patrol vehicles and arrestee buses are parked outside the Minneapolis Convention Center in Downtown Minneapolis. The Minneapolis Convention Center served as a temporary home for the Minneapolis Police Third Precinct following its destruction in May 2020. The original Third Precinct building was burned during protests that erupted in Minneapolis after the murder of George Floyd. This temporary relocation facilitated continued law enforcement operations in the city during a period of significant civil unrest and public demonstrations.
